How much does a mobile app cost in Kuwait?

Ask most companies "how much does an app cost?" and the answer is "it depends". The price does depend on your project, but you can still know where the number starts and what moves it. This page lays out our published app prices in Kuwaiti dinar, the steps we follow to build an app, and the yearly costs many people forget.

Want to know the price of your app? Send us a short brief on WhatsApp: what your business does, who will use the app and the main thing it must do. We reply with a written quote the same day, and a fixed price before we start. The first consultation is free.

The short answer: app prices at a glance

With us, a mobile app for iPhone and Android starts at 1,250 KWD, and an ordering or marketplace app from 1,750 KWD. If your idea does not need an app store listing, a web app starts at 699 KWD. The build itself follows six clear steps, from a free consultation to publishing on the App Store and Google Play. The details are below.

App prices in Kuwaiti dinar

These are the same prices published on our app development page and the price calculator. The timeline shown is the calculator's estimate, and we confirm the final timeline in your quote:

TypePrice (KWD)Approx. timelineBest for
Mobile app (iOS + Android)From 1,25010–16 weeksOne app for your customers on both stores
Ordering or marketplace appFrom 1,750Set in your quoteOrders and delivery, or buying and selling between users

"From" means the starting point, not the final price. The final price depends on your screens and features, and after the brief we give you a fixed price for the agreed scope before we start. If you add something later, we price it with you before we build it.

What raises the price of an app?

Two "delivery apps" can differ a lot in price. These are the items that actually move the number:

  • Number of screens. Every screen is design, code and testing on iPhone and Android. An app with 8 screens is not an app with 30.
  • User types. An app for customers only is simpler than one with customers, drivers and shop owners, because each type has its own screens and permissions.
  • Online payments and KNET. Connecting the payment gateway and handling successful and failed payments is extra work. KNET needs a merchant account between your business and the gateway, and gateways usually ask for a valid commercial licence. The money goes to your own account with the gateway, not through us.
  • Admin dashboard. A web dashboard to manage orders, customers and content without coming back to us for every change. Most apps need one, and its size affects the price.
  • Integrations with other systems. A delivery company, an accounting system, WhatsApp, or a system you already use. Each integration is extra work, and the other side has to offer an API.
  • One language or two. Arabic and English from the start means more content, plus mirrored right-to-left screens that need separate testing.

How your app gets built with us

The same steps for every project, and you know the price and timeline before any code is written:

  1. Free consultation. Message us on WhatsApp or leave your number for a call back. You talk directly to the developer who will write the code, with no middlemen.
  2. A written quote the same day. After the short brief you get a written quote that sets out what the price includes.
  3. A fixed price before we start. We agree the screens and features with you, then a fixed price and a clear timeline. No long contracts.
  4. Design. We design the main screens and show them to you. Coding starts only after you approve them.
  5. Build and test. We build the app and its dashboard from scratch, with no templates, test them on iPhone and Android, and keep you updated on WhatsApp as we go.
  6. Store publishing. We prepare the store listings and submit the app to the App Store and Google Play. The developer accounts are in your business's name, and we help you set them up.

How long does store review take?

Apple and Google review every app, so we plan time for that review in the schedule:

  • Apple says it typically reviews 50% of submissions in less than 24 hours and 90% in less than 48 hours.
  • Google says reviews for certain developer accounts can take up to seven days, or longer in exceptional cases.
  • Personal Google Play accounts created after November 13, 2023 need a closed test with at least 12 testers for at least 14 days before production access, which is why we suggest opening the account in your company's name.

The yearly costs people forget

The build price is not the last number. After launch, an app has running costs, and some of them are paid to other parties, not to us:

ItemCostNote
Apple Developer Program99 USD / yearApple's fee, paid to Apple directly, shown in local currency at enrollment where available
Google Play developer account25 USD one-timeGoogle's fee, paid once at registration
D-U-N-S numberFreeRequired by Apple and Google for company accounts, issued by Dun & Bradstreet
Hosting60 KWD / yearSSL certificate included
Domain name10 KWD / year · 20 KWD / year.com for 10 and .com.kw for 20, renewed yearly
Monthly maintenance30 / 60 / 120 KWDCompletely optional

Watch the D-U-N-S timing: Apple says Dun & Bradstreet can take up to 5 business days to issue it, and then up to 2 business days for Apple to receive it, and Google says the process can take up to 30 days. If you have a launch date, start early.

If the app takes payments, there is one more item: payment provider fees. These are not paid to us but to the bank or licensed payment service provider you sign up with, and they vary from one provider to another, so ask them directly.

Why ordering apps take KNET, not Apple or Google payments

Ordering and store apps do not use Apple's or Google's in-app purchase systems: Apple's guidelines require purchase methods other than in-app purchase for physical goods and services consumed outside the app, and Google Play's payments policy says its billing must not be used for physical goods or physical services such as food delivery. That is why payments go through a payment gateway such as KNET.

Mobile app or web app?

Not every idea needs an app store. A web app opens in the browser on any phone or computer with nothing to install, and it starts at 699 KWD, about half the starting price of a mobile app.

  • A mobile app fits if your customers order or book with you often and you want to be on their home screen. From 1,250 KWD.
  • A web app or customer portal fits if you want an account for each customer to follow their orders, an internal system for your team, or to test the idea before going to the stores. From 699 KWD.
  • For restaurants: a restaurant ordering website (Arabic page) starts at 249 KWD, with online ordering and no commission on orders, and an ordering app from 1,750 KWD if you want an app in your own name on the stores.
  • For stores and clinics: an online store with KNET starts at 349 KWD, and an appointment booking system from 299 KWD.

One more point: Apple's guidelines say an app should include features, content and UI that take it beyond a repackaged website, and an app that is not "app-like" may not be accepted on the App Store. If all you need is a website-like experience, a web app is usually the right choice.

Try before you decide

Pictures are easy. Working software is different, and you can try ours right now with no commitment: a store with a test KNET checkout and admin panel, a restaurant ordering site and a clinic booking system. Or open all the live demos.

App cost in Kuwait: common questions

How do I build a mobile app in Kuwait, and what does it cost?

You start with a free consultation and a short brief about your idea, then you get a written quote the same day, and we agree a fixed price before we start. After that comes design, then build and testing, and finally publishing on the App Store and Google Play. A mobile app for iOS and Android starts at 1,250 KWD, an ordering or marketplace app from 1,750 KWD, and a web app from 699 KWD.

How much does an iPhone and Android app cost in Kuwait?

With us, a mobile app for iOS and Android starts at 1,250 KWD, and our price calculator estimates 10–16 weeks for it. The final price depends on the number of screens and user types, the admin dashboard, online payments and integrations with other systems.

What are the yearly costs after the app launches?

An Apple developer account costs 99 US dollars a year, and a Google Play developer account is a one-time 25 US dollars; both are paid to them directly, not to us. With us, hosting is 60 KWD a year with SSL included, a domain is 10 KWD a year (.com) or 20 KWD a year (.com.kw), and monthly maintenance is optional at 30, 60 or 120 KWD.

Do I need a mobile app, or is a web app enough?

Often a web app is enough. It opens in the browser on any phone or computer with nothing to install and starts at 699 KWD, and for restaurants an ordering website starts at 249 KWD. If your customers order or book with you often and you want to be on their phones, a mobile app starts at 1,250 KWD. We suggest what fits once we understand your project.

Can customers pay with KNET inside the app?

Yes. We connect KNET payments through a Kuwaiti payment gateway. The merchant account is between your business and the gateway, gateways usually ask for a valid commercial licence, and payments go straight to your own account with the gateway; they never pass through us. The payment provider's fees are separate from the development cost.

Who owns the App Store and Google Play accounts?

Your business does: the accounts are opened in your business's name, and we help with the setup. Company accounts with Apple and Google need a D-U-N-S number, which is free, but getting it can take up to 7 business days by Apple's estimate and up to 30 days by Google's, so we suggest starting early.

Why don't you give me the final price straight away?

Because the number depends on your screens, user types, payments and integrations, and we only know those after a short brief. You send us what you need, and we reply with a written quote the same day, with a fixed price and a clear timeline for the agreed scope before we start. Anything you add later, we price with you before we build it. The first consultation is free.

Prefer a call back?

Leave your number and we will call you during working hours, with no commitment.
